Refurbishment of the Beau Rivage Wing: A Hospitality Project in Lausanne, Switzerland

Situated on the banks of Lake Leman in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Beau Rivage Palace is a luxurious hotel that has undergone a major refurbishment to enhance its beauty and elegance. This refurbishment project was focused on the renovation of the rooms and suites in the Beau Rivage wing, transforming them into a stunning modern space for guests to enjoy.

This hospitality project was initially designed by the Pierre Yves Rochon Agency, while Decca worked in coordination with PYR, designer Thierry Curty, and the operational team of Beau Rivage — the project took approximately one year to complete, from first contact and quotations to delivery to the hotel. The design phase began in March 2020 and was completed in August of the same year. Production took around 10 weeks, and the shipment by sea took around six weeks.

The decoration throughout the hotel is classic and elegant, with a mix of white and pastel colours. The rooms facing Lake Leman are dressed in green and sky blue to reflect the natural beauty of the lake. The Riviera Suite has a "Belle Époque" elegance, inviting guests to dream and relax. The Junior suites are reminiscent of the hotel's tradition of excellence that has made the reputation of the Beau Rivage Palace while keeping a warm side to feel at home.

One of the challenges faced during the production of this project was the development of hand-painted doors for minibars. Decca outsourced the hand-painting to a local artist to ensure the best match. The misty mountain landscape and golden leaves with white hand-painted cherry tree finishes took a few tries for the artist to achieve the exact result the hotel and designer were looking for.

Decca also developed moulded brass, imitating bamboo for pedestal tables. The legs of the table take the shape of bamboo rods, giving an unusual and unique touch to the furniture pieces for this project. Decca helped with the redesign of some items in collaboration with the designer and fine-tuned the usability of minibar interiors. The company was proactive in finding value engineering solutions to meet the hotel budget requirements.
